Welcome to the Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale website! The international award-winning Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale includes five choirs and one preparatory class including nearly 200 children in grades K – 12 from the Pikes Peak Region!

Our outstanding staff trains our young members to not only sing well, but to be excellent all around performers, and terrific human beings!

Broadway! It’s a term that through the years has been synonymous with everything that is glamorous, golden, graceful, glittery, outrageous, seedy, and Disney. It is the beating heart of the American commercial theater and has been called home by many of our biggest stars. It’s also a term synonymous with some of the greatest music ever made. Music that tells some of the greatest stories ever told. For the shows that these songs come from there is one term that encompasses them all – blockbuster. Sunday, June 2nd at the Pikes Peak Center the Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale will present a selection of our favorite songs from some of the biggest Broadway blockbusters of all time.

For more than 20 years the Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale has been producing a spring spectacular at the Pikes Peak Center in late May or early June. For the past ten years this concert has focused, with great success, on The Great White Way. Why Broadway? Many of our young singers dream of careers on the New York City Stage and this concert allows us to not only give them a head start on the performance skills and repertoire knowledge they need to succeed, it also provides them with a unique view into the life of the professional performer. The week of May 27th they will rehearse six out of the seven days leading up to the show, just like the pros do. Given our nearly 200 singers this will add up to close to 3000 man hours of rehearsal, just in the week leading up to the show.

For our singers, especially the youngest of them, these performances can be the high point of their year. Stepping out onto that giant stage, which dwarfs those in their cafetoriums or even the high schools they will one day attend, their eyes go wide and grins tug at the corners of their mouths. Keep in mind this is during rehearsal before there is even an audience in the house. Add to that recipe hundreds of adoring fans, a hot band, and a dash of theater magic and what you get is the opportunity to lose yourself for an afternoon in the Sound of Music, as well as the sounds of Annie, Les Miz, Chicago, and a Chorus Line just to name a few. Also, you won’t want to miss our Silent Auction, where you will find items from many of our city’s finest restaurants, retailers and more. We are also holding our second annual Spring Raffle featuring a $5,000 grand prize. Tickets will be on sale in the lobby before the show and at intermission. The drawing will be held after the performance, though you need not be present to win.
